Wreck This Journal: Collect Fruit Stickers* Here (*Stickers you find on bought fruit)
I filled up this page with stickers from cuties (clementines), bananas, and Granny Smith apples, and added little drawings to correspond with the stickers.
My boyfriend always has clementines stocked in his fridge, and so I always snack on one when I come over. I don’t really like bananas, but I know they’re good for you so I eat them anyway (I have a friend that peels the banana from the opposite end, anyone else do that?). And for the apples? Granny Smiths are my absolute favorite because of their sour, tangy taste.

Wreck This Journal: Glue Random Items Here (i.e. things you find in your couch, on the street, etc.)
I started working on this page a while back, but I only had two things that barely took up any room. Luckily, I came across two items this week alone, and just having 4 items filled up my page. All of these items were obtained on and around the UT campus.
1. Longhorn sticker- found in the “East Mall” of campus in some bushes. I thought it was appropriate to throw some Texas pride in my journal, since it didn’t have any yet!
2. Strip Poker playing card- found in West Campus. When I saw this laying on the side of the road, I literally couldn’t believe my eyes. They have actual “Strip Poker” cards for playing Strip Poker? On the other side, it is a woman in bikini, but it was definitely taken in the 80s (big, blonde permed hair, bright floral swimsuit). The card is all weathered and faded, and from the pictures, quite old as well. I don’t think I want to know where all this has been…
3. Swedish Fish sticker-given to on the Drag. Some people were doing promotional outreach this week for Swedish Fish for some odd reason, and this, along with a package of the gummy treats, was shoved into my hands the other day. I’ve never had them before, actually, but I thought this big, bright sticker would be a great addition to the journal.
4. Encouragement Post-It- found on bathroom stall door in the building I have French in. This sweet little thing greeted me yesterday when I went to the restroom before class. It says, “have an awesome day! (don’t forget to smile :D)”. It definitely brightened my day!

Wreck This Journal: Press leaves and other found things.
So when I was looking through my journal just now, a bunch of petals sprung from the pages and fluttered to the floor. I instantly remembered that after my cousin’s wedding back in the spring, I had plucked some petals from my bridesmaid bouquet and placed them in the journal to press for later for this specific page.
And here they are, 5 months later, and they still got a nice, faded tint of purple in them! I’m glad they didn’t fall out of my journal until now! I’m also glad that I have a sentimental value toward these pressings. It was a gorgeous wedding and I feel so blessed to have been a part of my cousin and her husband’s special day.

Wreck This Journal: Infuse this page with a smell of your choosing
Haven’t done this in FOREVERRRR (since April!) but I didn’t want to work on it over the summer, just because it would be more fun to work on it here in Austin, so I’m starting it up again!
(You can see all my previous posts here, or check the link in my about me.) Basically, for those who don’t know what this is, I have a journal that tells me to do different things to each page, eventually “wrecking”, or destroying/defacing/etc. the journal.
ANYWAY, for this page:
My signature scent is Marc Jacob’s Daisy. I’ve been wearing it for almost two years now, and sometimes I’ll even spray a little vanilla with it to mix it up a bit. I found one of the ads in a People magazine, so I pasted that into the journal.
Isn’t the ad ridiculous, though? If you can’t read it, I wrote: “Hey girl, why are you laying in a field of high grass in your underwear, with a huge-ass bottle of perfume? Sit up, crazy. Isn’t that grass itchy? And aren’t you getting bit by ants? And do you REALLY need that much perfume?” LOL.
But now my journal smells quite heavenly, if I do say so myself.

Wreck This Journal- Tear this page. Put it in your pocket. Put it in the wash. Stick it back in.

I decided to do this today since I haven’t done laundry in a month and I thought I should stop being a lazy college student and do my wash.

I was worried that the paper was going to disintegrate, but it turned into a cool, tie-dye like effect from the markers ! (it’s brighter in person)

Wreck This Journal- Make a Paper Chain

This page came with dotted lines separating twenty little strips to make into a paper chain. I chose to make them along the color theme of my sorority’s colors: double blue and gold, such pretty colors! I also haven’t made one of these chains since elementary school, I felt so little again :D

I stapled it back into the book, so now my journal does not close all the way, unless I want to smush the paper chains all the way !

Wreck This Journal- Tear Out, Crumple.

I decided to color the page in a tie-dye way before I crumpled it to make a cool little effect.

I always like to crumple pages and toss them like basketballs into wastebaskets. I never just throw a flat sheet out. I put this particular page back in my journal though :]

Wreck This Journal- Tear Strips, Rip it Up!
I did this page a while ago, I just forgot to post it. This was a good release to rip up paper, but I was afraid I wasn’t going to rip straight. I did a pretty good job of ripping them straight enough though, I think!
The blue and green swirls almost makes it look like strings of seaweed. The next page asks to staple/glue the two pages together so maybe I’ll put a mermaid or fish underneath the strips on the next page..hmm….

Wreck This Journal- Glue a Random Page From a Newspaper Here
Sudoku and Crosswords puzzles :D
I wrote “Too many politics in newspapers… I do the Sudoku and the Crosswords! …I never finish them.” on the page as well :]

Wreck This Journal- Document a Boring Event in Detail
When I saw this page, I knew exactly what to write about.
For my production lab this semester, I am working in the prop stock room at my university. I get to work with check outs/returns for theatre and film students, as well as departmental productions that need any sort of props. Now, there are some days when I’m super busy, but some days when I just sit there and do NOTHING for a couple hours. Monday was one of those days, especially since it was the day after spring break, so I documented my two hour work day.
I listed 32 detailed events that happened in that 2 hour time span including: check voicemail, return missed call, no answer, leave message, turn on radio, Bad Romance comes on!, radio gets static-y, etc. etc. etc.
It was entertaining to write all of this while it was happening though haha!
(Oh and the little drawings are of an apple, since I ate one during the time, glassware, since I put some away in cabinets, and a camera, since I have to take pictures of props for checkouts)
